Features the grade as it skirts the shore of Lake Superior from Mackenzie Beach Road to the 62-foot bridge over the Mackenzie River. On October 28, 1970, a sizeable portion of the grade beside the eastern abutment was washed out. Two locomotives and five box cars of a westbound train plunged into the washout, injuring the three crew members.
