Watcomb Pit
Wako/Watcomb Station Watcomb Pit Hunt/Umfreville Station
The Watcomb Pit was located west of Watcomb Station at Milepost 160.5/131.3.
The large ballast pit was constructed in 1971 and opened in 1976. Connected at the east end, the spur was 4630/3500 feet long. In 1981, it became known as Watcomb Pit GR 75 and remained in use until the line was abandoned. According to an Ontario government website, the pit was in operation from 1971 to 1991 and produced 130,000 tons per year.
