Petry Station Quorn Station Reba Station

Quorn Station was located near English River, ON at Milepost 122/64.1/122.6/92.7.

Situated slightly north of Quorn Lake (the lake appears as Sand Lake on a 1918 map, so likely the station was named first), it was home to a water tank when the line opened in 1908. By 1918, the coal facilities from Oscar had been shifted here as well, and both would be available until 1960 when diesel engines appeared. A usual GTP Type “E” station was built in 1910 or 1911 (sources are conflicted) and remained until it was destroyed by fire in 1947. There was a post office at Quorn from 1924 to 1955.

Quorn and its siding remained on the line until it was abandoned in 1994.

Just north of the station on Selwyn Lake, at Milepost 124.2/95, a major washout occurred in 2014. A sudden rush of water from burst beaver dam obliterated 130 feet of grade which has never been, and likely will never be, repaired.
