Knowlton Station Oscar Station Petry Station
Oscar Station was located near Graham, ON at Milepost 107.3/49.7/108.2/78.3.
In the early years, Oscar, situated just over halfway between Fort William and Graham (Sioux Lookout), was an important point on the line. In 1908, the timetable shows it home to coal tower (or bunker), water tank, turning wye, likely a section house and a GTP Type “E” station was constructed in 1910 or 1911 (sources are conflicted).
Judging by the photos posted below, it was the scene of some activity during that time. Between 1915 and 1918 however, the coal facilities were gone, shifted west to Quorn. In 1923, the water tank was removed and a year later so was the turning wye, both being shifted east to Graham. The original station was destroyed by fire in January 1949 but, according to CN records, it was replaced by another structure shortly thereafter. It would be retired in 1960 while the siding was taken out of service in 1966. In 1973, Oscar was removed as a station on the line.
