Linko
Dexter/Raith Station Linko Station James Station
Linko was a station located near Raith, ON at Milepost 62.3/4.6/63.1/33.2.
Just northwest of Raith, Linko was home to a GTP Type “E” station which was built in 1910. Like its neighbour, it did not follow the usual alphabetical naming pattern, with both it and Dexter/Raith falling in between Horne and James. Apparently it was done to mimic the nearby Canadian Pacific Railway station. The building was sold in 1960, though accounts state that it was burned prior to 1958. A flag stop was established just east of the station site circa 1958. The siding was taken out of use in 1987.
Just west of the station there is a mysterious connecting track/spur that links to the nearby Canadian Pacific Kansas City Kaministiquia Subdivision. There is no known documentation or map showing this line, which suggests it could date back to the construction of line and mirror a similar one to the east in Raith.
Linko remained a station on the line until it was abandoned in 1994.
