Larson
Kelly Station Larson Station Mack Station
Larson Station was located near Upsala, ON at Milepost 82.4/24.4/82.9/53.1.
According to CN records, Larson was home to a GTP Type “E” station constructed in 1911. It also had a water tank, which was interestingly located more than three-quarters of a mile from the station itself and remained in use until it was discontinued in 1933. It was resurrected in 1946 and remained in use again until 1958. Its siding was removed in 1990. There was a post office at Larson from 1928 to 1954.
Larson was likely named after Peter Larson, who in conjunction with the Foley Brothers, was awarded the contract to build the line. The Foley Brothers also built the Sudbury-Port Arthur section of the Canadian Northern as well as the Nakina Cut-off.
Larson remained a station on the line until it was abandoned in 1994.
