Griff Station Horne Station Horne Pit
Horne was a station located near Raith, ON at Milepost 51/52.1/22.2/22.
This station was situated southeast of Raith in Soper Township. It may have been named after local lumber and businessman J.T. (John Thomas) Horne, who had operated a sawmill in Fort William under the name Graham, Horne and Company, which was later sold to the Pigeon River Lumber Company. The usual GTP Type “E” station was built here in 1911 and was used until it was sold in 1961. In 1966, the siding was taken out of use, though it was resurrected for one year in 1970. Horne was eliminated as a station in 1973 but was brought back in 1986 without its siding.
Horne remained a station on the line until it was abandoned in 1994.
