Graham/Sioux Lookout
Bidwell Station Graham/Sioux Lookout Station
Sioux Lookout Station was located at Milepost 195/165.9.
Sioux Lookout was originally named Graham after George Perry Graham, the Minister of Railways and Canals at the time. It was renamed Sioux Lookout sometime in mid 1918.
A unique station (similar to a few other GTP stations but not exactly the same) was built in Graham in 1911. Following the completion of the National Transcontinental Railway, it became an important divisional point and the coal and water facilities at Superior Junction were shifted here. During the Canadian Government Railways period, it divided the Armstrong Subdivision to the east and the Graham Subdivision to the west.
Today, Sioux Lookout remains a divisional point on CN’s mainline, situated between the Allanwater Subdivision to the east (formerly the Armstrong/Bucke Subdivision) and the Redditt Subdivision to the west (formerly the Graham/Quibell Subdivision).
