Dog River Station Ellis Station Sunshine Creek Culvert

Ellis Station was located near the community of Sunshine, ON at Milepost 32.8/33.7/3.8.

Initially over shadowed by the nearby station at Dona, Ellis took on greater importance when the line was rerouted in 1924 and it became the first significant station on the line. A water tank was added that year which would replace the water tanks at Dona and at Milepost 44.6 (45.3/15.5). The tank did not survive long however, as it was discontinued in 1933. Like many of the other stations on the line, Ellis was home to a GTP Type “E” station which was constructed in 1912 and removed in 1964.

Ellis and its siding remained in use until the line was abandoned in 1994.
