Crest
Baird Station Crest Station Strawberry Creek Bridge
Crest Station was located northwest of the village of Murillo, close to the Kaministiquia River at Milepost 20.9/21.7/20.5.
A GTP Type “E” station was located here, along with a tool shed and a 3466-foot siding. It was one of several abandoned in 1925 when the line was re-routed following the creation of Canadian National Railways (CNR).
In November 1909, a tragic accident occurred just west of the station when a train, travelling east from Dona at a high rate of speed, left the tracks at an embankment. One member of the crew was killed instantly while another was left with serious injuries and was not expected to survive.
